Apple Iphone Kit
My iPhone screen is cracked, what should I do?
I dropped it and cracked it not really bad but bad enough to need it replaced quickly. The Apple store which is 3 hours from me charges 200$ to get it repaired, but they have kits you can buy online and fix it yourself. I know someone that can repair it for me no problem, but I was wondering what my best bet is? I am leaning towards fixing it myself, as long as I get a nice clear glass im fine, the touch works fine and the actual screen has no damage.
Correct apple will charge a $199 accidental damage repair fee. You can go to the apple store or do a mail in repair. There may be alternatives to fixing it yourself though. Such as if you purchased your iPhone with a credit card often the credit card company offers insurance on items purchased with their cards. Another thing that could help in the future is almost every home insurance company will cover your expensive electronics for just a few extra bucks a month.
