can i use an iphone 3g without service as an ipod?
i have verizon and dont need a new phone. my uncle is upgrading his iphone ( currently 3g) to iphone 4… he offered to let me have it to use as an ipod only…….will the ipod function of the phone work without service from att??

Your iphone 3g will effectively be an iPod except that’ll have a GPS function as an added extra.
You’ll only be able to connect to the internet via wifi.
