Buy Cell Phones Overseas
Overseas Cell Phone?
I’m going to Japan in September (just as my current cell phone contract expires!). I’ll be there for 7 months in school, and I was wondering what would be the cheapest option in terms of allowing me cell phone use. I’m supposing that buying a phone here (US) and taking it over there will incur a large bill, but if I buy one in Japan, will I be able to bring it over here and use it? I’ve also heard that cell hone rental is available. Does anyone know about how much that would cost in Japan (Tokyo Area)?

Whatever you do, if you plan on making alot of phone calls back to the states stay away from calling cards. Rip off all the way. I was in Germany for almost a year and the expense was horrible. So hopefully you will find a decent international cell phone plan.
