how much would it cost to call an english mobile abroad, from an english landline?
The mobile phone is in, say, the USA but is using an English sim-card. Am I charged at normal rates, or international rates?
Yes, you are charged your normal rate – as if the called mobile was in the UK. The extra costs are picked up by the roaming phone as a charge to receive calls.
This is a requirement for all GSM networks and is part of the original GSM charter.
