Girlfriend angry of idea of not getting a Christmas Gift!?
Money has been tight for me and my girlfriend this year and it was looking like we weren’t gonna be able to buy our kids much for Christmas. She’s got two sons and I’ve got a daughter. Ok, I came into some money a few weeks ago and told her not to worry about Christmas because I was gonna buy the kid’s presents. I bought all three kid’s gifts and she hasn’t come out of pocket for a thing. Earlier we had decided that we would wait till after Christmas to exchange between us. Fine at the time. Well, in the process of buying the kids stuff I bought me a PS3, an extra controller and a few games. I also bought my girl a brand new cell phone with all the accessories. Chargers, bluetooth headset and belt clip. A $400 value. Now she’s thinking that since I bought the PS3 I could have bought her something but she doesn’t know that I already have. She’s been giving me the cold shoulder for days. Should I tell her and spoil the surprise or should I make her wait?
Firstly, she should be thankful that you bought her children gifts. It was your money to do with as you wanted. She is acting very childish, and very spoiled. My husband and I always wait until after Christmas to have ours. Our boys come first, and we buy for them, make sure they have what they want/need. We are adults, and should act like it. Your g/f needs to grow up. It was ok at first to wait, but not its not. You should ask her what she has gotten you. It’s not right.
Yes, you’ve gotten her something, but I would not tell her. She needs to obviously grow up and take a look at how she is acting, because someone acting like that doesn’t seem to be caring about anything other than herself.
Kudos to you for buying for your daughter, AND HER KIDS. She should be grateful she found someone like you.
