Cell Phone Accessories Day
To anyone who has ever tried marketing and selling in a mall?
I have been selling supplemental insurance for over 6 months now with a very reputible company who has a duck as their logo. I have been doing pretty good so far, but I am trying to think outside of the box. A fellow agent has a sweet deal going. He sets up a small booth in a truck stop for about 6 hours a day and sells to truckers as they come through. He has been very successful and is selling around $20,000 per week in annual premium quite consistantly. I met today with the manager of a huge mall and she gave me permission to rent a booth in the mall every month. The mall is only 2 years old, located in a city with a population of 70,000. Has anyone ever tried this and if so, tell me your experience. I have met with other vendors in this mall who said it has paid off extremely well for them, but insurance is different from cosmetics, cell phone accessories, shirts, and purses. I will have to agree to a 3 month lease to start at $1200 per month. Your thoughts?
the price is fair because in jackson, ms, the booths are 3000 a month. noone really sells insurance but they do have a survey booth and they can surely pull them in fast. i work with an online health benefits program and have actually passed out fliers in the mall before. considered doing more like renting a booth but having made that step yet.
i say that if you can invest 3600 in your biz, then do so. the good thing is your lease will be for 3 months and by the end of that time you will have figured out if it will work..
