Are cell phones in egypt bought as a bundle package with plan, for example does mobinil sell a phone on a 3 year contract for free and then you are with the company for 3 years.Or do people in egypt buy unlocked phones and add a vodafone or mobinil gsm. Some plans are available, but Generally u buy a phone or bring an unlocked GSM tri or quad band from somewhere else and simply buy a sim card and add minutes as needed…this is done because Egypt doesnt really have a credit reporting system, and any way for a company to track u down and pay your bill if you dont…The phones they sell in Egypt are unlocked and tri band with some quads. MUCH cheaper to buy/bring you own. Cell phones cost 150-300% of the cost here in the USA..hope this helps
