Cell Phone Voicemail
Is this some kind of Voicemail cell phone scam?
I just got a new cell phone and I keep getting voice mail messages from someone looking for “Frank.” I’ve gotten long-distance calls from all over the US and Canada with people talking in english, spanish and even French. From what I understood these people want to talk to someone named Frank and they want him to call them back so that he can help with something that went wrong in their “factory”. I’ve answered a few of these calls and told them they have the wrong number, but different people keep calling and leaving messages.
I’ve been deleting these voicemail messages and I don’t call them back. It’s getting quite annoying! I’m starting to think it’s some kind of scam. What do you think?
I doubt it’s a scam. I kept getting calls for a “Tammy” when I got my cell phone. Turns out she’s a real estate agent who has the same phone number as me, but a different area code. I explained the situation to everyone that called for her and eventually the calls stopped. Just keep telling everyone that they’ve got the wrong number, but if the calls don’t let up in a month or so, I’d see about getting a new phone number.
