Ipad Garageband Midi
HELP ME (MUSICALLY) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
I have an old electric piano/organ (Yamaha EL-60) that is a dream to play, but gives off the most awful noise when I press the keys [I've tried everything, all the loops are bad]
I also have a GarageBand equipped IPad, which has BRILLIANT synths, but is hard to play on due to the touch screen. (It’s ironic because the iPad has the largest touchscreen I’ve ever seen)
I want to see if there is a way to press the organ keys and hear a wonderful synthesizer.
I have tried MIDI, but it’s a little laggy and it doesn’t always work.
I am NOT interested in spending much money on anything, so a new synth is out of the picture.
But if you know a decent, easy to play alternative – that’s what I’m looking for.
It sort of needs to have physical keys on it, but if you say give me a (extremely) DIY guide to build your own synth – I’m in.
There is a MIDI interface for the iPad. It works well and you shouldn’t have any lag issues. Entire albums have been produced using nothing more than an iPad. Check out the free version of nLog. It’s a great analog synthesizer emulation. For $8.99 you get a version that will interface with the external MIDI interface which lets you play it from a real keyboard. If the board you have now has bad contacts and isn’t triggering properly, you’ll have to clean the contacts or buy a new board. there are a ton of MIDI controller keyboards out there. I’m currently fond of the M-Audio Axiom line. I have a 61 key and a 25 key version.
