I just signed up for TextNow, an app for my ipad, and need advice?

I did this because texting on my cell is a pain. On the ipad, I have a keyboard and can text much faster. My question is, what is in it for TextNow. Do they add me or the people I’m texting to some database and then send junk mail or text mail. Maybe I’m just being paranoid, but I work hard to keep myself off these junk lists. Thanks for your answer

They send you occasional stuff like “New Free App” but its waaaayy less spam than textPlus. Just delete it.
