Iphone Agile Messenger

Just jailbroke my iphone, cant find any messaging apps that run in the background?
I want to get mobile chat or agile messenger but I cannot find either of them. I am running the 2.1 firmware, i dont know if this makes any difference?
I have both Installer and Cydia, I’m guessing I need to get more sources but I don’t know which ones I need
No, it doesn’t. The OS doesn’t support background running processes, that’s why smart people are buying phones with real mobile operating systems, like Symbian OS
