Iphone Available

Will the iPhone become available to all carriers?
For right now the iPhone can only be used for at&t or something, but i have verizon and it would be a hassle to switch over, does anyone know if other carriers will have it available in the next year or so?
AT&T and Apple agreed on another year, so the earliest would be 2010.
But even then it is highly unlikely for Verizon to get the iPhone. Apple originally went to them, but they wanted all their software and such on the iPhone. I don’t think that they have changed their minds on that. So it’s up to Verizon.
