Track Lost Cell Phone ?
An Iphone 3G was stolen from me a while back. I still have the original box with all the info of the phone:
Part No.
Serial No.
ICCID.
UPC.
IMEI.
ETC…
is there anything i can do to find my phone? Maybe contacting the phone carrier? I live in Costa Rica, there is only 1 carrier, ICE CELULAR, would they be able to track the phone?
Using SIM cards, well, when you go and get a cellphone line, you need to bring a phone, and the line is registered with the info from that phone, you can then take the sim and use any phone you like. Since the carrier doesnt support the Iphone, You (user) need to take an old phone to open the line and then switch the sim.
If CINGULAR is able to know what phone you are using by getting the IMEI from the sim, can any other carrier be able to do it? Please help, any advice on this? Any software i can use? im willing to try anything at this point. Thank You In Advance!!
It depends on the technology and the phone’s operating system. If your phone has GPS (turn by turn directions), it can be tracked. There are several applications out there that broadcast your location to all your contacts. But even without that, if your phone has GPS, it is constantly broadcasting your location for 911 emergency service. There are several ways to track this information. So the answer to your question is, if you’ve installed an app, you already know. If you haven’t, it can still be done, but it would take someone that is familiar with technology. If you’re afraid someone is tracking you, take the battery out. There are even ways to access the phone when it is turned off and listen in on calls.
