Iphone Multitasking 3g

3G iPhone not compatible with iOS4.1?
I have the iPhone 3G, and I got the newest software update, iOS4.1 and it didn’t change anything. It said some features with iOS4.1 was multitasking, getting backgrounds in the home page things and game center, but I didn’t get any of this. I have synced and re-synced and nothing happens. I have restarted my computer too, by nothing. Is this software just not compatible with 3G?
Those features were never going to be available for the 3g. 4.1 was supposed to help the slowness and lagging of the 3g running 4.0. That’s all. Apple is barely supporting the 3g these days.
