HTML / CSS text different sizes from computer to computer?
I’m making a form and I got it made and everything and it looks great on my computer but if you look at it from a different computer or iPhone etc. nothing lines up anymore. Here’s the website: http://www.thomasjr.zzl.org/test/index.html and there’s a link on there with a screenshot of how its supposed to look and how it looks on an iPhone. I’ve also tested it on 3 other computers and only 1 other one lines up correctly. The browser doesn’t matter either. It might not line up for you or maybe it will. I think it has to do with the DPI (Dots Per Inch). Depending on the computers DPI the text is not the same size as it is on my computer. Like if the text is set to 12px it shows up right on my computer but on another its much bigger. So if anyone knows a way around this I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Tip: It’s a good idea to keep the CSS neat and inside an external document (ie: styles.css) and just include it on the page.
What is happening on mobile devices is that they each do their own math on how something should appear. Not being specific with division and spans can cause problems. Which is why most people use tables to accomplish this because a: Every browser (mobile or not) processed tables in the same way, and b: Easier and cleaner to print.

EDIT: Also, you may have caused some problem by using an image for a simple border. There are CSS styles for borders as well…
