Iphone Switching Carriers

I switched Tmo to ATT for the iPhone and am unable to receive text messages from other carriers?
I can send texts to anyone and they are received but I can only receive those from ATT? Cust service , tech support, and apple were unable to help and said to go into a store for help. Anyone had this problem?
Did you just port over your number? Unfortuantly this is not uncommon when porting a number over, it should straighten out within a couple days for you all on its own.
