I’m getting my first smartphone (Samsung Epix). I know about texting (I’d rather talk to humans), I’ve heard of Twitter (not interested), so what are the must-try apps and capabilities of a current generation smart phone.

Hmmm. I don’t agree with that. The smartphone replaces a PDA + phone that I carry around now. It has bluetooth, wifi, and does more than I can imagine.

In all seriousness, almost nothing. The top of the line technology right now is the touch screen and movement sensing devices in the phone.
There’s almost no advantage to having a smart phone, it’s only a marketing scheme.
