Is there a catch with T-Mobile’s Pay by the Day Plan?
This plan seems to amazing to be true! I have pay by the minute right now and I would like to stay with prepaid plan, because it makes the most sense for me as a college student. I can put more money on the phone when I have money with no bills or contracts to worry about.
Why would T-Mobile allow people to talk unlimited for just one dollar a day. Granted I understand that it has to be from the hours of 7pm to 7am, but still. Is there a catch? Does anyone have this plan and know for sure?

I just got this plan for my children, so that they could have an inexpensive way of being able to always get in touch with their father and I (as, increasingly often, they are dropped off at Scouts, ball practice, etc.).
It works how it says it does, so long as you read carefully.
If you do not use the phone, you are not deducted anything from your balance.
If you use the phone, you are deducted $1 for that day. That $1 includes unlimited T-Mobile to T-Mobile, without time restrictions, and unlimited calls to/from any network after 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. the next morning.
Texts are ten cents to send and five cents to receive, and any calls other than the ones mentioned above are I believe ten cents a minute. And, picture messages cost more.
Checking your voicemail is NOT considered a T-Mobile to T-Mobile call, and costs airtime.
And, if you talk after midnight you will be charged $1 for the date prior to midnight and $1 for the date after midnight.
IT is a good plan, especially if you are not going to frequently use it. If you are going to talk daily, and/or use texting, there ARE other plans that are just as inexpensive-the My Faves, for instance. For a little more than $1 a day you can get unlimited calling to any five people, no matter the time, as well as X amount of minutes for other calls. You can add on services such as texting and t-mobile to t-mobile, or nights/weekends.
Look into the Flex Pay plans, as well. That is a sort of hybrid between a contract plan and a prepaid…you pay the account ahead of time, like a prepaid, but the service is more like a contract. Once you use your minutes up, it will not work anymore unless you get a prepaid card to add funds to the account until the next billing cycle starts. Of course, if you have a MyFaves, then you would still be able to talk to them…
