Mobile Phones Quad Band
Tri band or Quad band?
I am getting a new mobile phone tomorrow and I don’t know if I will need quad band or tri band. I live in the UK but will be going to Canada (Alberta) for a few months so the phone will need to work there. I will probably be with Vodafone network. Would I be cheaper to get another sim card when I get to Canada rather than use the card from the UK? And if so, would the new sim card work in a tri band phone or would it have to be quad band??
It really depends on the type of service you need. The more places you need to be able to use your cell phone, the more frequencies you need. If you need service internationally or globally, you will need a greater number of frequencies than someone who only uses a phone close to home. In other words, between triband and quadband, the latter would be the better option for service that covers more area. For phones that are only going to be used locally or regionally, triband should be sufficient. in Canada, you will only need a triband phone and it depends on who are you going to communicate more often. i would suggest that u retain a UK number and also have a prepaid Canada sim card for local use. make sure to unlock your vodafone so you can use it w/prepaid Canada sim.
