Cancelling a Data Plan?
I would like to take advantage of the cyber monday specials, unfortunately the only phone on my family plan eligible for an upgrade is my mothers. My mom has no need for a smart phone, but I would like a new one. My worry is if I use her upgrade and keep the phone myself I will end up paying for the data plan on her line as well as mine. So my question is after i upgrade can i go back and remove the data plan from her line or will it be considered under contract and I would be stuck paying it?

You both go to AT&T and she tells them she’s letting you use her upgrade. AT&T takes it from there. That way you both keep your numbers and only one person pays for a data plan.
