Where do I stand with a Cell Phone i found?

So I found a cell phone, Gsm same network as mine…can I legally use it and own it or? Am i doing anything wrong If i found it and decide to use it? What are my responsibilities and is it considered stolen property even if I found it?

More than likely the phone has been reported either lost or stolen to the cell phone carrier. You should contact the carrier to let them know you found it or take it to the police department. If you put your SIM card in it they can track the phone and possibly charge you with a crime (stolen property).

Your best bet is to not use it, turn it in or contact the cellular phone company.
