Verizon Cell Phone Icons

I got a razor, and i don’t know how to get rid of the 4 annoying icons in the middle of the screen.?
I dont know if i can get rid of them, but my friend has a Verizon Razor cell phone, and she dosnt have them on her phone. So i think i can, but i dont know how.
press the middle button and then the star key and turn it off and then turn it back on
