Verizon Iphone Fails

Why aren’t people receiving certain texts from my iPhone 4 on Verizon?
Just today I had 2 people say that they didn’t receive particular texts that I had sent them. The text didn’t come back failed but it did kind of take awhile to send on my end. Why is this happening? I’ve never had a problem before.
call verizon.. i have friends who are having the same issue.. make sure it isnt a problem with the phone rather the service.
