Verizon Phones Faq

If I buy a Verizon phone, can I put it on my Alltel account?
Also, if I can, how?
I’ve called Alltel, and the representative told me that Verizon can’t work on Alltel and that Alltel phones wont work on Verizon.
But, on Alltel’s FAQ, it says you can use their phones on Verizon.
They are merging companies, just in case you didn’t know.
