Verizon Phones On Ebay
Is it possible to buy a Verizon phone on eBay and get it connected?
My 2yr contract isn’t over yet, but I was wondering if I could buy a phone on eBay and get it connected to my exisiting line that I have? Or is it not possible because my contract isn’t over?
You sure can do that! Make sure when looking at phones on eBay or any other 3rd party that you ask the seller for the ESN and HEX number. Call those numbers into Verizon to make sure that the phone has not been reported lost or stolen, or has any outstanding payments (for instances early termination fees not paid, etc.). If any of these exist, don’t buy the phone. Once you get the do not call Verizon or go into the store to activate the phone as they will charge you a $25 activation fee. If you don’t have your online account set up go to http://www.verizonwireless.com and set up your account, once there click on “my phone” then click on activate phone or something like that but do not click on activate new phone as you are not activating a brand new phone from Verizon. After that just follow the prompts and you’ll be set. I’ve done these many times. Also, before doing any of this, look on your phone in the get it now feature, and I believe it’s under business tools, look for back up assistant. Download this to your phone and follow all the prompts so all your contacts and their numbers will be uploaded onto the Verizon site. It will say that it costs $1.99 a month but if you go to your online account at http://www.verizonwireless.com periodically it will not cost you a dime and this way you can bring back all the contacts to your new phone (as long as you put the back up assistant on the new phone as well) and you do not have to waste your time and effort into adding each and every contact by hand. It is a great feature and I’ve done this for the 3 lines that I have on my family share plan and it is a blessing and saves a ton of time!
